Cave paintings in Afghanistan have been declared to be the first oil paintings in the world, by Japanese experts.

Those caves are remarkable and should be respected and continued to be preserved. They've lasted this long... it would be a shame to be destroyed by war (which would only be a short blip in its long history).

Interesting BBC would do a story on these caves... the entire landscape looks intricate and full of secrets.

We've come a long way baby. However, those are pretty amazing. The Buddhas were a tragedy, and It's a shame that the Taliban had to go arond blowing up their own country.
