The morons believed that just as they believed Bush's and Cheney's suggestions that Saddam was linked to 9-11 and that he had WMD's.

Tony Sanchez was defeated because of that and other lies and trickery from special interest groups.

The TRUTH was that Tony Sanchez was a Life Member of the N.R.A. himself and also owned a 10,000 acre hunting ranch in South Texas where deer hunters went to hunt every deer season.
