Nationalizing any sector of society is a bad idea, but nothing makes me cringe like the idea of government-run health care. I’m old enough to remember when Bill Clinton was in office and the nation expelled a breath of relief when Hillary’s attempts at universal health care were abandoned as impractical and unwanted. Well, a decade and a bit later, not much has changed. Hillary is still pushing for government mandated healthcare, and it’s still impractical and unwanted.

i rather have government run health care then the farce we have now. I've lived in Japan and the UK both with government run health care and there weren't any people dyeing from being denied by their hmo, people weren't loosing their homes because they couldn't afford their co pays or medications. This system is ridiculous!

oh and "Nationalizing any sector of society is a bad idea" so you're against cops, fire department, mail? Back when they weren't nationalized you had to have the sign of the fire company on your house or else they wouldn't put out your fire.

oh and you quote "Kaiser Family Foundation" only one of the biggest HMO/insurance companies around. Of course they don't want any sort of socialized medicine. It ain't good for profit!! Free market mantra out of my health care now!!!

It is interesting that the world's best health care, the best doctors and hospitals are in countries such as Sweden, France, Norway, etc., where health care is nationalized.

Since when is nationalized health care a bad idea? I would much rather pay for it than to dish out money for sub-standard health insurance through my employer.

Just another right-wing hit piece trying to defend a system which has only been working for the wealthy of the nation. The key idea in their little comic is that, "Oh no, we'll all have the SAME healthcare." This is revealing as to what the elitist repugs are all about. They're not happy with the notion that everybody is taken care of. They can only be happy and feel good about themselves if they have it BETTER than the rest of us. It bolsters their notion that they ARE BETTER than the rest of us.

The best doctors in the world are in the US. Your information is wrong.

"weren't any people dyeing from being denied by their hmo"
It's because the "Nationalized health care" countries come to the US for medical procedures.

This is such an unimportant topic right now. The US doesn't have a pot to piss in at this moment. I remember as a small child asking my mom for a candy bar at the grocery store and she would always say "We are broke so no one is getting anything!" and I would whine about it at which time my mom said "When you get a job, you can pay for it yourself".

The US is broke baby so go get a job and pay your own way you lazy Americans!

A multi-trillion dollar war is not a bad idea???

Spending hundreds of Billions to bail out greedy wallstreet corps. is not a bad idea????

Sending millions of Americans to prison for smokin' pot is not a bad idea???

Doesnt change the fact the US is BROKE!

How sad that so many folks still have old thinking in their minds and do not realize that health care is the next big crisis on our horizon. If we do not address health care in this nation because it is morally and ethically the right thing to do then we need to do it because it is bankrupting families and institutions.

What happens to the hospitals and doctors who have to write off hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost money? The insured pay for it. My premiums have trippled in the past 5 years and I have less insurance now then I did 5 years ago.

We need national health insurance. Canada and England had good systems. England's has been manipulated in the past several years and they are paying for it now.

Well, truthfully, Canada's system isn't perfect... but what system is? Moore had it right, at least we get a piece of the pie. I'd be terrified if I woke up one day to find out that my insurance disappeared and I would have to pay to see a doctor out of my wallet.

I know how terrified people are in the states about government health care, because they don't want to pay for someone else's cough, but really, everyone gets sick. Then again, that is capitalism at it's best.

Agreed, no system is perfect and we learn by trial and error yet I respect all of the countries who actually vote and see to it that they have national health care. The citizens saw to it that health care was a national priority.

    Remember the Boston Tea Party?

Trut "Health care is not totally free in some provinces you pay $54 a month. Full coverage ... everything. but not dental that you are on your own if your employer does not pay.'

In the US Insurance cost for employers just doubled to twelve thousand dollars a year. Reason given, NONE.

That is too bad. Here in Alberta, the most conservative province in Canada, next year the province will pay all premiums. Universal health care is not a liberal vs. consevative in Canada.
