ANYway, Tamagotchis, apparently, are now back and set to infuriate a new generation of primary and highschool teachers with their electronic mewlings for attention. Now in colour, the new 'gotchis seem not to be all that different from their previous incarnations. I wonder how well they'll go down with the latest iPod generation...
-
I haven't investigated so perhaps this already is out there, but if the trend of "caring" for an electronic pet is still popular, why hasn't someone created such a thing as an application for iPods?
-
OMG! They're like totally in colour!
Surely they'd make much more money in building a mobile game or an iPhone app...
I remember giving my friend' one a lethal injection once, I thought it was funny at the time...It taught me a valuable lesson, if you're gonna kill you're best mate' electronic pet - don't own up to it. You'll lose a best friend.

Cool! Next toy to return: Lincoln Logs
-
I remember those. For some reason i wasn't allowed to have one but I got one at a friends birthday party one year but sadly I lost it soon after.
-
They don't have my favorite color! I dont' want one anymore.
-
How is this new? They're not "back" they never went away. This generation of Tama's have been around for several years now, I think they're on version 5 or 6 now.
-
No way! I LOVED these!!! I had like 6.

They're back but they aren't the same Tamagotchi's they were ten years ago :(
It's been happening to a lot of old school toys; they are resurrected with much unneeded facelifts.

I am so excited about this! There is something about Tamagotchis that is just much more charming and attractive than more sophisticated games such as NintenDogs, etc.

This is a bit like dawn of the dead for technology. I am a little worried that we are resurrecting one of the worst things from the 90s couldn't they just bring back pang or space invaders.

AAH! Those things are evil! They are mined from the very depths of hell and run on souls of the damned!
Or watch batteries if you don't have any souls lying around. But they are still evil!

Wow... I'm having flashbacks of elementary school.

I never had a tamagotchi... but i remember waking my friend's up so i could clean up its' shit. Now i have real pets, and the early morning walks and timely feedings aren't quite as adorable.

nano pets. ahaha. so lame and still so entertaining.
-
Yes the colored versions may be cool, but these are a total waste of money! You'll get tired of them easily. Get a REAL pet!!

I remember they annoyed the hell out of teachers and they would say "If I see or hear it I'm taking it!" then you'd get caught, it would go in teacher's desk drawer, you'd get it back at the end of the day and it would be sick or dead because you hadn't cared for it all day. Lol and remember "babysitting" your friend's virtual dog, cat, baby or whatever?
Those damn things were too expensive at the height of their populartiy so I had a Nano Baby lol! Then an advisor from my Upward Bound program gave me her Tamagotchi and I was so happy. Then they weren't popular anymore the battery died on mine and I threw it away.
