Palin clarifies views on homosexuality

Gay activists have had a tough time believing Palin when she says she has close gay friends. But Tuesday night, in a second interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric, Palin elaborated on the friend she’s so often referred to -- a woman she says she’s been close with for 30 years.

When talk turned to a church that Palin has frequented sponsoring a conference promoting the conversion of gays and lesbians to straight through prayer, the maverick Republican turned defensive.

“I don’t know what prayers are worthy of being prayed, and I don’t know what prayers are going to be answered, but as for homosexuality, I am not going to judge Americans and the decisions that they make in their adult personal lives.”

Palin suggested the press "got it wrong" when they implied she supported the church's beliefs.

Later, despite acknowledging that one of her best friends is a lesbian, Palin went on to suggest that she believes homosexuality is a choice.

“One of my absolute best friends for the past 30 years happens to be gay… I love her dearly. She is not my gay friend-- she is one of my best friends. She happens to have made a choice that isn’t a choice that I would have made.”

    Just for the record, the LBGT community is no fan of this failure as mother and as public servant! She is raising a 16 year old slut, (sorry but if Obama's daughter was lose and practicing unsafe sex, what would mccain, buchannan and like no minded ones call her?) As for her political careers, pick a scandal any scandal, 20 million, troopegate, censorship of library, my favorite, cannibalizing her fellow republicans to get ahead!!

    I dont get that... straight people are born straight, but gay people are making a choice.

    The reasoning and logic behind "gay people are making a choice" assumes that they have both gay and straight tendancies and inclinations, but they choose to be gay, ignoring their straight tendancies. By the same logic, Palin is a raging homo that turns her back on her gay thoughts and tendancies, and chooses to be straight.

    Right????? Gay people are straight but choose to be gay, so straight people are gay and choose to be straight???

    Insanity!

    So, is this supposed to give us any idea how she feels about that proposal for a federal gay marriage ban?

    Not that it matters much. McCain supports the dumb thing and, HE's the one that would be elected 'Head Honcho' if they win, not her. If anything DID happen to him & she got the 'Head Office', the damage would already have been done, more than likely.

    I figure she probably supports such a ban. Has anyone heard anything on this? We don't have any TV or newspapers in my home. The only news I get is what I happen to have time to read on Yahoo! or if I happen to have time to listen to the actual radio (which is seldom), and whatever I come across in my favorite magazines.
