More gay and lesbian characters in television means more characters that the young gay and lesbian community can relate to. I'm all for it.

    Meh most gay characters end up in the same pointless flawless roles that (american) black female characters get.

    Pure tokenisism, with no basis in a reality the viewers know.

    Then again the same could be said of sex and the city and their band of "oh they are so like us" women.

    I don't watch TV other than the cooking shows. I stopped watching TV as it is geared towards the mindless. If I were gay I would be happy that I was not portrayed.
