The Topic of the Week 10/3/08

It’s that time of the week again, and I know you’ve all been sitting on the edge of your computer chairs, frantically refreshing the Current blog page to see what the topic of the week will be. Well, refresh no more, here it is: Octopus.

Like last week, Octopus is pretty random topic that most people haven’t checked out, but is very interesting nonetheless. Posts about these eight-legged (or is it eight-armed?) sea creatures ranges from the recent discovery that octopi can either be right or left “handed” to an Australian man caught downloading octopus porn, with the very appropriate first comment on this item being, “??? What exactly is octopus porn? …” Good question, and happily, I have no idea. And while all these posts are really interesting/twisted, my favorite has to be “The octopus who loves his Mr Potato Head.” Really, how cute is that? It’s his special plastic friend! And if that wasn’t enough, this very unique little octopus is named Louis. It’s equivalent to naming your dog Bob and I love it.

So if you haven’t yet read these cephalopod-centric posts under the Octopus topic, I suggest reading up on our eight-tentacled friends. And if you come across another quirky octopus story, you know what to do.
