Debt slavery requires the slaves to feed and house themselves.
Watch Zeitgeist Addendum - Are you a slave?

I just wish that people would recognize that Zeitgeist is the other side of the "neo-coin." It is full of the paleoconservative agenda and uses the images and emotions of 9-11 in a reckless and manipulative manner. There are experimental mind control image techniques used in Zeitgeist and subliminal flash frames. It takes truth and knits it with lies much like our current administration.
I vote this up. Please... watch both Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum but use your critical thinking skills and count how many times you are subjected to falling executives and collapsing towers while being encouraged to revolt.

I like and agree with most of your posts Pericles but i have to disagree on your Zeitgeist opinion. I just watched Addendum and didn't see one falling executive. It struck me as a very informative eye opening video. I don't see the idea of changing our entire societal structure as dangerous, I see it as necessary. It is for this reason that I am totally against the bail-out. let the finantial system collapse. It is the natural end to a badly flawed system.

Thanks for both of your pov's. Now that I have read your two interesting perspectives, I have to watch for myself.
That is what a healthy debate will encourage.
Knowledge is Power......

Some years ago the author of a book on the Mexica tribe ["The Hummingbird And The Hawk"] used the term 'Debt Penury.'
The Mexica leadership retained economic population control by ensuring that its lowest level offspring was born into a level of debt which was so high it could not be repaid. It would take the efforts of several generations to pay it all back, but in most cases the indebtedness never was paid back.
This ensured that servitude was virtually without limit. For centuries generation after generation was consumed by an elite mad about the concept of human sacrifice - to a Hummingbird god, named "Huitzilopochtli"
http://www.bookrags.com/wiki/Huitzilopochtli.
"Huitzilopochtli was said to be in a constant struggle with the darkness, and required nourishment in the form of sacrifices to ensure the sun would survive the cycle of 52 years that was the basis of most Mesoamerican myths."
"Under Tlacaelel, Aztecs believed that they could give strength to Huitzilopochtli with human blood and thereby postpone the end of the world, at least for another fifty-two years. The Great Temple of Tenochtitlan was dedicated to Huitzlilopochtli and Tlaloc because they were considered equals in power. "
We might want to refer to the Wall Street bailout as our "Huitzlilopochtli Initiative" to save us from the end of a bubble-laden business cycle.
In either case it seems that sacrifices once again are made by the blameless to profit those most happy to use them as offerings to greed and burn them up.
As mythologies go - it's theme and variations on an old swindle.
As a democracy in the 21st century - it is a disgrace.

Sad to think the whole idea is to keep us in debt.
A surplus does not make rich and powerful more rich and powerful.
Our only option is to not go into debt to anyone for anything.

Alarming. However, most people will elect to be ignorant to such information. It isn't until one's life is on the edge that people actually start realizing their ignorance. Most people won't figure it out until they're dying in a concentration camp somewhere in the U.S. People who elected to be in such a state, and died "surprised" that their world wasn't the party they thought it was, have NO pity from me; initially; albeit I'm wont to feel for people regardless, I suspect my initial anger will override any compassionate emotion; I AM an INFP after all, so there's always something there. Nonetheless, the point, as I have come to "jist it", is to AID each other in a world of bruises. Unfortunately we live in a society that IS what it IS because we've allowed to become as such; though there HAVE BEEN several efforts of the "awakened" that have raised clamor against inequity; albeit victims of time or corporate ass-hurt egotistic fat-cats, in history, in all fairness, they're message still lives on in the hearts of activists stranded across the world. However, there haven't been enough voices against such things. I have to mention that the person I've become is one of blunt truths, mostly, and if I had heard myself say such things a few years ago I might have disowned myself right then and there; however, as some would suggest: "I always say fuck the truth. But mostly the truth fucks you." I've been raped by such truths, so yeah, I'm a different person because of it. And it's exciting. (Twisted logic, huh?) Anyway...

The Zeitgeist film series are very interesting and informative but I do not agree with their views of religion and ridiculing people that choose to practice a faith of their choice.

This is an idea whose time has come.
This move is so amazing and my mind is blown. I've tried to think for years about how to work towards a symbiotic society and this is it. I'm downloading the video now and will help it go viral.
-
We need to support this...make it viral. We need to foster solidarity and take resolute action in order to establish the new paradigm laid out by the Venus Project. The rising is upon us, we all feel it, now lets acknowledge it and forge a new path, together.

I am downloading it too. I really thought the first one was very informative and thought provoking.
I too agree that everything must pass the critical thinking strainer to eliminate the fluff.
-
its been going on for too long

Everyone please watch this new video, as well as the original Zeitgeist. It's like taking the red pill.

I did watch this movie and many of its principals in regards to the monetary system I found to be true and valid. However it presents some cultural challenges. It also over extended itself into a dangerous spiritual, philosophical and intellectual terrain.
Yes, I do agree that money is one of the roots of all evil in society and a new system it is desirable. On the other hand I will give a scenery of events to all of you and a question in the end for you to exercise your philosophical thinking.
It is not a secret that I deal on the daily basis with social behavior. If you watch some of my movies, unpolished and raw as it is, it shows real local events happening in the City of San Francisco; both Government and Public; that totally represents a failure of humans to use technology for the benefit of society in a way that it is clean, respectable and safe for all. All these people have jobs.
They also have money and some education and many have lots of money. Even with all the money, their behavior still erratically offensive to others around them and they are presently using technology to heavily pollute the environment.
How do you address this types of real barbaric events if you are to take out or suggest to eliminate a spiritual culture that maps the origin of human behavior?
Anybody?
-
truly the only solution to not getting in debt is to resist trying to live up to todays "social norms" try to get economic knowledge before you are even able to get credit. and do your damnedest to save, invest wisely, and live within your means.

We are all slaves to some extent. Some of us are slaves to debt whilst others are slaves to doctrine, however, from the responses above it looks like we're on the path to emancipation and we need to spread that hope.
It's not about electing the next personality, praying to be saved or asking what's in it for me?
It's not about rights - it's about responsibility to all life on this planet and asking how can I help?A better future starts now.
There are over 6.7 billion of us. Many have awakened to the separation of racial, religious, political and socioeconomic devices. Others are still locked in the grasp of beliefs that exclude and divide by spreading hatred, fear and intolerance.
Awakening is a slow and sometimes painful process but it is gaining momentum.
Humanity has but one choice. Support one another and the planet we inhabit.
It's up to us.

every single person in America should b forced to watch this. some hacker should take control of every airwave and put this movie on 24/7 for a whole week.
this has to be done.-

I like the technology part because it reminds me a lot of Star Trek.

RE: "uses the images and emotions of 9-11 in a reckless and manipulative manner," respectfully I must ask simply "How on earth could it get any worse?" Compared to a) the horror of the original event, amplified by b) the uncomprehensible revelation that it was a diabolically pre-meditated "false flag" operation all along by Bush, Cheney and the corporatocracy solely for profit, like so much Hollywood script (ref: Z: World Trade Center) and c) its currently unfolding orchastrated and insane apocolypse, ANYTHING is better than this.
RE: "force people to watch this," of course this must be a choice and the problem is there are still a lot of Americans that *will* not see and/or don't perhaps have the means to access the Internet. BUT, what everyone *does* have is a TV, right? What every American does see is the nightly news. So as a catalyst here, consider End the Fed at endthefed.us. Stand up on the 22nd at your local FRB branch, smile for the coameras, and make JFK proud. The TV coverage- if it pulls off- should be quite a media event if thousands of people show up at 30+ US cities simultaneously. For every unenlightened American that views this, even if they don't fully understand it, it just may be the trigger they need to prod them into learning more.
For anyone in Chicago, see you there ;^)

this is one of the best explanations of some of the reasons behind our current economic "disaster." it shows how the situation that we are in is not an accident, but rather just part of the way our system necessarily operates.
i really enjoyed this movie much more than the original one. this film seemed to have a lot more things to base arguments off of and had lots of primary source uses. much of this information is not even being contested but its rather information that is rampantly available on the web. i think this movie did a great job of collaborating info and has a great flow.
i was glad to hear some solutions, but we need to understand that there are many ways to reach some of the goals set out by the movie.

Thank you for the post! I love the internet and its ability to help me stay completely informed. I sure can't count on the "local news" for this kind of story! I'm going to watch it again tomorrow with friends, and I'll definitely be sharing with others. Peace!

Buy the dvd here, the copies are only $5.00 each:
http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/dvdorder.htmThey encourage duplication and non-profit screenings, but of course do not authorize sell for profit.
I feel that when those who have seen this movie reject it, they are doing so out of fear, that the concept of the movie is too frightening for them to contemplate, therefore they dismiss it, and call it propaganda.
The blue pill, or the red one; the choice is yours.
