Beral challenged the scientific community to turn its efforts to preventing breast cancer instead of investing more and more money and time into better drug treatments. Speaking to the Guardian, she said that while death rates have been slashed by new drugs and earlier diagnosis, the number of women getting breast cancer and having to go through traumatic surgery and chemotherapy was rising.
According to her research, genes played a part in only a very small number of cancers while the processes of giving birth and breastfeeding protected a woman from breast cancer more than anything else. Of course, returning to an era where women had endless babies and breastfed for two years or more at a time was not an option, but Beral raises the question why there are no drugs that mimic the effects of childbirth. She said. "We don't know how this happens and nobody is doing research on it. We should be looking at hormone production during late pregnancy and lactation."

Prevent cancer by eating right and exercising. Don't be a lazy ass and turn to vaccines and other (profitable) medications to fulfill what can be done on your own. Your human body is stronger than what everyone fails to recognize.

Thank god.
Now we don't have to wear those terribly unfashionable pink things, along with those long ass walks.-

It's called cannabis. It's going to be the cure for cancer when the public grows up and stops thinking that its detrimental and realizes it about money. How? Take some time and read the simplified science below. Then research for yourself.
Your body and everyone around you has Cannabinoid receptors in every system and organ (CB1 and CB2's) that can only be triggered by cannabinoids. Which happen to only be in cannabis (marijuana). Do you think these receptors that once activated, deter and stop mutating cell growth, encourage healthy cell growth, can regulate neuro and immuno responses, stop cancer growth, etc...are just there in your body for no reason? It's because we have used concentrated cannabinoids for treatment for centuries. Did the people of the past know how it helped? Probably not, but they knew this plant did.
I'm not saying smoking it is the cure- its not. But if you use the chemical compounds with in marijuana for the uses as they were intended by the human body- we may just see "miracles".

Not that I'm an expert on this, but I have an endocrinologist who is a specialist in his field particularly with transgenders (me being one) and something he told me that the reason there is so much breast cancer on top of women not giving birth every year or two, it's also mainly caused from the spike of progesterone at the end of the period that causes the cancer. Because while you're pregnant and after birth when you're not cycling your body doesn't have such spikes in progesterone. Statement by John O'Dea MD fyi

i think janapokana should probably get there facts straight.
my professor of matematics recently got breast cancer, and she was the healthiest person I knew. She ran marathons every year, as well as competitively trained for decathlons and triathlons. She ate better than anyone I know as well. Her breast cancer was not genetic either. You cant blame it on her health or body at all. -
well this is goood
finally! -
This is wonderful news. The sooner the better.
