The first to report about secret Central Intelligence Agency prisons in Europe where alleged Al Qaeda members were held was the Washington Post on 2 November 205. The story was based on anonymous sources within the CIA.
The history of the article's publication (Dana Priest won a Pulitzer for it) is dramatic. President George W. Bush intervened when the newspaper was to go to print, asking for certain details - the names of the countries where the detention centres were located, and the names of the prisoners - to be withheld.
On 7 November, Human Rights Watch, the human rights organisation, said the prisoners had been held in Poland and Romania, among other places. In December, ABC News reported the names of twelve terrorists who had supposedly been held in Poland, among them Khalid Sheik Mohammad, the mastermind of the World Trade Centre attack.

Sickening.
Makes me hate America even more.
Terrorists. Yeah right. more like 12 year old kids who threw a rock at an american soldier after having their house blown up by US military contractors.

Polska needs to ask who's gonna help them when they caught up in foreign politics. Polska has made itself a target in the world on the behalf of America.
I wonder if America will defend Polska (if anything were to happen) especially at a time when there are some many devastating issues going on...

Unfortunately I do have to agree with TrikyNiki...
As to foreign policy and national security, it's very much a question of balancing on the tip of a knife. We have our Russian neighbour who seems to be getting hungry - if they decide to "protect" their compatriots in Ukraine, which is very probable and likely, then we'll be living next to a big, ever growing hungry "bear" again. :(
So who would protect us then? EU? Nope. Germany and France are just playing at appeasing Russia, following centuries of traditions. So really really no chances there. If you ever wonder why the hell Poland signed that dumb anti-missile shield agreement - it's just fear of Russia. And hope that putting other countries' interests in Poland will help, since things are already going bad.
But this whole alliance with the US isn't helping us much at all. The truth is, that we put ourselves in harm's way, and didn't manage to get anything in return - if you're so kind not to count the quite literal patting on the back. Support in Poland for the US is fading of course...

Poland has nothing Russia wants. Even if Poland did, bombing it with ballistic missiles would not be the way Russia would go about getting it.
The missile shield is a useless travesty. Hopefully, when Poland finally sorts itself and its self image out, instead of persecuting ex-Communists who did their best for Poland in a difficult time, the people who let in CIA prisons and missile sites into Poland would be the last Poles prosecuted in this manner.

You would think that after WW2, Poland would have enough of secret detention camps?
