"I have a temper, to state the obvious, which I have tried to control with varying degrees of success because it does not always serve my interest or the public's." - John McCain

During last night's debate, John McCain said we need "a cool hand at the tiller," but McCain has proven to be a loose cannon. He has accosted his Congressional colleagues on both sides of the aisle on everything from the federal budget to diplomatic relations. He is known for hurling profanities rather than settling disagreements calmly. His belligerence is legendary. Even conservative Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi has said, "He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."

When someone earns the nickname "Senator Hothead," the public ought to call his character into question. McCain's propensity to explode undermines his abilities as a rational decision maker, particularly on national security issues -- which could prove disastrous considering our country is already involved in two wars.

Apparently, he is a much a toxic and disturbed person. We do not want him making any executive decisions. Personally, I just don't trust him or believe anything he says.

There is no excuse for this behavior. I am not surprised considering the trauma he has been through. Post Traumatic issues probably. He is angry for what happened to him and I understand that. But there is no excuse for a hothead to not only mentally but physically abuse his staff and/or those who seek council with him.

These aren't even democrats speaking out in fear. They are people from his own party and men from the military who are now blatantly saying "I would not follow him."

    This is a big problem.

PTSD would prevent him from being conscious of his over-reactions. He would deny they exist and become suspicious of others for bringing up the issue. I've seen this before with other vets.

Also consider over-compensation. "You don't know what I went through! I spent five years!"

    - therefore

    - Gotta have the top job.

    - How you get there doesn't matter.
    - Lie, cheat, smear, who cares,
    - without the job it's back to being the husband of a rich wife...

Face it, most men with $500 million, 8 homes, 13 cars, aren't out approval-seeking from biker gangs while a competitor gets accolades from Europe..

There's a lot of things that all of us do that only others can bring to our attention.

But more than half of an entire nation is telling this man - STOP! Enough!

When he refuses they are rejecting him; as he ramps up the smears his supporters are abandoning him; even the Republican Press which he practically owned is saying no way - but obviously it is all being blocked and denied.

Such a man may well be a powder keg who can't bear to see a younger man, unscarred and brainy take the last straw.

And to trust a guy - who in essence admits that the lie is what works best for him - is really quite crazy.
