The Friday-evening crowd in the Minneapolis suburb of Lakeville was fired up for Sen. John McCain's arrival for a town hall meeting in a hot high school gymnasium.
The senator's supporters jeer after he calls Obama "a decent person."

They largely felt their candidate was getting a bad shake from the national media, and there was a sense throughout the question-and-answer portion of McCain's event that the audience needed to make a point to McCain.

"I'm begging you, Senator, to give them a different choice on Wednesday night," one woman said to McCain, referring to the upcoming presidential debate next Wednesday.

"The people here in Minnesota want to see a real fight this next time you debate," a man said. "We want a strong president to lead us for the next four years."

And a third: "I respectfully tell you that you have to talk a little bit, and bring to the attention of the voters – the press is not going to do it for you – some of the gamey associations, some of the associations that have really marred Obama's life…You gotta do it."

THE SHAMING OF AMERICA by John McCain

I emailed John McCain yesterday (after coming home from surgery on my shoulder) because he is 10000% accountable for the racist and violent mood of the crowds at his rallies.

McCai/Palin have stoked the fires of hatred, violence, and dishonorable conduct. I told him so and I urge all folks who are apalled at McCain and Palins strident attacks and fear mongering to flood the RNC and McCain's offices and website condemning his dangerous conduct.

McCain's mild admonishment was/is too little too late and not real as Palin is back out there making personal attacks.

Palin is a hypocrite and is unethical.

Some say his campaign has "gotten away from his control" -- this should make it ok and should that reassure us?? If McCain cannot control his campaign folks then how can he be an affective president?

AKA - C'mon John - give us the dirt.

Forget the issues, or those dumb old policies and platforms, the endless costs of wars, or talk about the tanking economy - justify our belief that Obama should be the scapegoat. The only scapegoat.

Lies are good. Order is better. When the lies create unruly hatred and bitter, violent chaos, it's time to re-instate order. Then, when all's calm, we can lie some more....
