The Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to appear on Letterman's "Late Show" on Thursday.
It will be McCain's 13th visit to the CBS program but his first since he angered Letterman by canceling last month.
Letterman was unhappy when McCain sat for an interview with Katie Couric instead of him on Sept. 24.
At the time he said he first felt like a "patriot" to let McCain off his commitment to deal with the economy but "now I'm feeling like an ugly date."
A McCain spokeswoman said at the time that because of the economic crisis, the campaign "felt this wasn't a night for comedy."

He pissed off Letterman and even conservative pundits were calling out his despicable, race-baiting tactics, so he has a lot of work to do to salvage his reputation.

I will lose tons of respect for Dave if he decides to ride the grudge further....more than just teasing.

That's fine if McCain didn't feel it was a night for comedy, but McCain lied to Letterman when he said he was flying back to Washington D.C. IMMEDIATELY. McCain didn't get back to D.C. until the next day.

I think Dave should be gracious about the scheduling screw-up, and nail him about his politics, which are, after all, the important thing.

Thank GOD for TIVO! Let's keep an eye on this. I can hardly wait for Letterman's sharp tongue to get ahold of McSame...let's see what he has to say!

Letterman use to be funny. Now he's a boring old man. Louie C.K. is funny. That guy who MCs the gong show is funny, and so are Robert Schimmel, Louie Anderson, and Rocky LaPorte. I think funny guys should make you laugh.
