The article says that concerns over this issue led someone to file a class action lawsuit against Apple about not being clear about the risks involved? Sounds similar to the woman who dumped hot coffee on her lap and sued McDonald's. People need to be more responsible for themselves. People need to use their brains and stop relying on warning labels to keep them out of danger.

I have pretty bad ringing in my ears (tinnitus) after 20 or so years of listening to music loud with headphones and playing in bands. I'm kind of used to it now but it's really annoying. Unfortunately the worse it gets the more things tend to hurt my ears (ie. they're more sensitive) and the less perceptive my hearing becomes.
So kiddies, if I can hear your music on the bus... it's too loud!! You should try sleeping when all you can hear is ringing... it's pretty crappy.

Great... MP3 players are ruining my hearing, monitors are damaging my eyes and even my joints are at risk from all the texting I do. This digital age is prematurely ageing me. :-(

Always a price to pay with fun! One thing I find dangerous with headphones is how one can easily be suduced into turning up the volume. Once you crank the volume up you get used to that level therefore you feel the need to crank it up again. Then when you turn the volume back down it sounds to low and you need to either turn it off to become sensitive to the sound again or crank it back it up.

A lot of MP3 players these days have warnings in them about not listening too loud for too long, and it's just common sense really - I'm amazed at how loud some people like to play their MP3s, even loud enough to hear across a moving London tube. Stands to reason these people get hearing problems.

The world and our reality outside the internet is what is at stake here, not the world inside of it.
People have got to take their voices outside of the internet, that is the only way anything is going to change. The damage and destruction that is leading us into this dark period in history is happening outside the world of the internet, reality television, and movies.
Turn off your TVs, close your laptops, and talk to your neighbors and friends in person! March in person! Raise your voice in life, not online!!!

The same warning happened over the Walkman and the Discman. TURN DOWN THE VOLUME! it isn't that damn difficult. Parents, teach your kids the appropriate music levels to pump directly in their brain. If your'e an adult, you should no better in this day and age. Whatever happened to self-preservation and responsibility?

Is it just the volume or the fact that everybody uses earbuds that are horrible for your ears? They actually go inside of your ear and there for are much closer to your eardrum and much louder for it.
