As Canadians get ready to go the polls on October 14th, More than 230 academic economists have signed an open letter to the leaders of the federal political parties, urging them to acknowledge that putting a price on carbon is "the best approach" to combatting climate change.
Professor Ross Finnie is an economist and a professor at the University of Ottawa. His research interests include public and labour economics, social policy, post-secondary education and income support programs.

Polluting is a cheaper way to do buisness, making it more expensive is the ONLY way to communicate with the executive people. All they see is the bottom line. Mix the taxation with money saved by slef sufficient energy policies and we will see change.

It's a great idea, but let's see what the initative looks like once big business has had it's hands on the draft copy...there'll be loopholes, there always are.
