Mislead Public Do Nothing Congress

The misleading claim by the republicans is how the democrats have had the majority and have done nothing. Below are the reasons as to why this is so.

CURRENT SENATE SEAT BREAK DOWN
Party: Republicans
Leader: Mitch McConnell (Kentucky)
Last Election: 49 Seats held by Republicans

Party: Democrats
Leader: Harry Reid (Nevada)
Last Election: 49 Seats held by Democrats
(+ 2 Independents: Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Joe Lieberman of Connecticut i.e. Non-Democrats)

Essentially Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman are in the middle. They supposedly caucus with the democrats; however, as we all know, Joe Lieberman seems to be John McCain’s right hand man thus he has sided with the republican vote more than not. This does not make a strong majority! In fact as you can see it essentially makes it a fifty-fifty split. Wait there is more (the filibuster).

THIS IS HOW IT BASICALLY WORKS. If a bill passes the House then it moves to the Senate. The Senate can pass or vote the bill down. If there is a tie, the Vice President, (Dick Cheney), is the one who is required to break the tie. If the bill passes the Senate the President can still veto the bill thus it fails. If the bill makes it through the House, the Senate, and the President, it becomes law. AS YOU CAN SEE THIS IS NO MAJORITY BY ANY MEANS.

THIS IS KEY!
The democrats keep being coined as a do nothing and/or as a miserably failing congress. This is very misleading. In addition, a little known or understood fact or at least one that is either overlooked or ignored by the masses is that of a filibuster. The term 'filibuster' is seen as a tactic for pirating or hijacking a debate or a vote.
The parliamentary procedure known as a FILIBUSTER, or "talking out a bill", is a form of obstruction used in a legislature or other decision-making body. An attempt is made to infinitely extend debate upon a proposal in order to delay the progress or completely prevent a vote on the proposal taking place. Thus the republicans literally can and do hamstring (block) the democrats from accomplishing much of anything. With a republican President to back the republicans, the democrats have essentially been incapacitated.
Going into the 2008 election, the democratic strategy clearly envisions reaching a filibuster-proof majority of 60 in the Senate.

The point here is the democrats have not been able to accomplish much as they are easily blocked by the republicans if the republicans so desire it. Obviously they have so desired!

Polls Dip Slightly and Why

Is it possible voters are being duped by big money, the cunning top 5%?

Have you noticed lately some poll numbers for Obama are slipping ever so gradually in favor of John McCain? If the numbers jumped dramatically I would say that something major would have had to of happened. For example, when the economy took a nose dive, McCain’s numbers fell. So we ask ourselves: why are the numbers suddenly slipping little by little each day? What are the possibilities? Let’s think about this for a moment. In the last week or so, gas prices have started to essentially plummet. They say the demand for oil has dropped significantly due to the fact Americans are using so much less. Granted many people have probably reduced their consumption but how many really can? I don’t really buy this as a legitimate reason. Think back, on numerous occasions gas prices have roller coasted prior to an increase of holiday travel. During past elections gas prices have dropped to help sway the outcome. This is nothing new. The petroleum cartel has the ability to do this on a whim.

So we ask ourselves: why would they do this now? The most logical reason would be the revenue that the oil companies will lose under Barack Obama’s new tax plans. Remember he plans to cut taxes for 95% of the American people (the middle class). He is going to eliminate the tax breaks that the big oil companies currently get. Think of the billions of reasons it would profit them to play with gas prices for a few days. By lowering gas prices many stocks could quite possibly bump up. This price reduction would create a small loss; however, in exchange they have a great deal to gain. They can always raise the prices after the elections and they will no matter who wins, watch and see. I promise you this will happen.

The big pharmaceutical companies will also feel the pinch due to Obama’s tax plans, what big company will not be impacted? None! Ask yourself these questions, ponder them for just a few moments and I hope you can see the logic and possibilities. The top 5% have a huge amount at stake in this election and they spell it with $$$$$. John McCain is their man. The outcome of this election is extremely important to them as it is for the middle class. The trouble is that the 5% and the 95% are at odds with each other.

Think about another possibility. In the last two days or so the DOW has taken a big jump upwards and is continuing that trend. This would tend to indicate that we can take a big sigh of relief and sit back and smile that we have managed to avoid a looming recession. Have we really avoided a recession? We can only hope; however, have you noticed some of the recent headlines stating how banks are afraid to loan to each other? This is in spite of the $700 billion bail out. Sallie Mae has stopped giving out student answer loans for students until further notice. They are one of the largest student loaning firms around. What do they know that we don’t? My point here is that big businesses have a lot to lose in this election if Barack Obama wins. It would be a huge advantage for large corporations to play with the stock market. If they were to do this for just a few days the economy would appear to be rebounding. Many secrets can and are passed behind closed doors as history has shown so many times before. What games might they be playing?

Many voters are quite possibly being lulled into a sense of false security that all is well once again. Thus the fundamentals of our economy are strong. We know this to be a lie! Don’t get suckered into this façade that the top 5% are feeding you. Vote the way you believed you should before this temporary illusion was fed to you. Remember the tighter an election becomes the easier it is to rig or steal it by just a little here and a little there like voting machines, ballots, voting guidelines, misrepresentations, and disenfranchised voters. The last two elections have shown us this. Americans don’t be duped!

Forget John McCain...

*Feeling like it's her chance to really "Maverick things up" in Washington, Sarah Palin and "camp" kicked McCain off the ticket today, just 6 days before the election. The unprecedented move is a shock to everyone.

Official sources in the Palin camp said that "in an effort to demonstrate her commitment to and solidarity with Pro-Americans, Palin has selected 'Joe the Plumber' after a lengthy vetting process performed earlier this week to be her Vice Presidential running mate."

Asked to comment on her decision to retire McCain, assume the lead position and take on "Joe the Plumber" as her running mate, Palin simply said "I feel 'Joe the plumber' is highly qualified for the position of Vice President and Commander of the Senate."

Palin went on to say that she is undecided whether to appoint Elisabeth Hasselbeck (of "The View") to fill the cabinet position of Secretary of the Defense or to set up an entirely new Cabinet position - "like George Bush did with Homeland Security," called Secretary of Pro-Americanism. "Either way" states Palin, "I'm dubbing her 'Elisabeth my back'". Palin went on to say "since Hasselbeck has a long and successful history of fighting un-Pro-Americans and terrorists she feels she's (Hasselbeck) is well qualified for either post."

When interviewed this afternoon, Hasselbeck stated "my first act as Secretary of Defense will be to be to ban 'The View' as an instigator and spreader of 'un-Pro-Americanism.'" Asked how she could turn on her friends on "The View" who helped her develop her sharp mindednism and pointedliness, Hasselbeck replied "the show would have been nothing without me, end quote."

Asked to respond to today's events, the McCain camp stated it will "never give up," that "we like being the under dog" and that they have Palin "right where we want her" according to one high level McCain staffer. The staffer went on to say that "just as John McCain's financial fiasco early on in the McCain Campaign for President (strangely enough, resulting from incompetence, a lack of oversight and overspending) gave McCain a new lease on his candidacy, kicking Palin off the ticket has given McCain the opportunity to select his best buddy ever, Joey (politician for hire) Lieberman for his running mate." The McCain staffer insisted it was McCain who was "more Mavericky by dumping Palin from the ticket, not the other way around."

When asked about their "judgment" in making such a change so late in the game, only six days before election day, the McCain staffer said "that's what makes it fun."

Many analyst say "this is nothing new for the self labeled 'Mavericks,'" and that "the McCain / Palin ticket short on meaningful policy, direction and ideas, have like a neglected (and often psychologically abused) child, sought 'negative reinforcement' or acting out (or badly) as a means of drawing attention to themselves." The analyst continued, "Sometimes, negative attention is better than no attention." Analyst agree, the McCain / Palin's campaign has "almost entirely consisted of negative attacks on their opponent which largely includes fabrication, distortion and outright lying," continuing they point out how the severity of the fabrication or the degree of divergence from the truth parallels the McCain / Palin campaigns relative position or standing in polls.

I vote Sarah Palin as ideal role model for America's daughters!

I just want to state right here, right now that I believe Sarah Palin is not only more than qualified for the position of Vice President of the United States of America, but is also an EXCELLENT parental role model for all soccer moms and daughters to live up to.

The fact that she has had to endure the pressures of living on the border of the Soviet Union with Putin doing "fly-overs" over our magnificent state of Alaska, credit could only be given to Sarah Palin for keeping a watchful eye and Americans safe.

I've no doubt, given the opportunity, that while aerial hunting wildlife in Alaska, seeing Putin flying over, Palin would have taken aim and shot the leader of the USSR down and rid the world of that communist threat once and for all. I have no doubt at all pitbull / soccer mom wearing lipstick! More power to you WOMAN - you are strong!

You can not only bring home the bacon, you can shoot it and skin it alive, you can cook it up in a frying pan and make men cry.

I can only imagine the pride her daughters feel about their mom. It's refreshing to see her adolescent daughter being so mature, having babies and getting married and so forth. It's got to make Sarah proud and a testament to Sarah's parenting skills that her daughter is psychologically and emotionally advanced beyond her years. Just one more reason to Vote for Palin.

With the growing circle of so much love and support within the Palin family, I'm sure it won't be long before the Palin family girls bless us with more offspring - maybe even one of the boys.

My own daughter is only 8 years old, but I am so full of confidence in Sarah Palin's leadership, judgment and parenting skills that I am hoping (and encouraging) my own daughter to look to the example set by Sarah and her family for guidance and direction in her own life choices. I especially encourage my son to emulate the examples set by that first family of Alaska.

If my daughter has sex and conceives a child at say 14 or 15 years of age, I can rest easy that it isn't due to a lack of my parental guidance and discipline or that my daughter is emotionally deprived and neglected at home, but that my young daughter is emulating the fine example set forth by our Vice President, and dare I say, soon to be President of the United States.

Go Sarah Palin!!!!!! Down those "Rooskies" with brewskies Sarah Palin!!!!
